Crispy Tortilla Bowls for Taco Salad are way more fun than just a plate. They are so easy to make. I have seen these sell in the grocery stores for up to $2.00 each! Making your own is so much more economical! They are baked, not fried, so they are more healthy too.
Just buy a package of large flour tortillas and some buttery flavored cooking spray.
Spray both sides of each flour tortilla with buttery cooking spray. Stack them on a plate that is covered in wax paper. Warm them 4 at a time in the microwave for about 15 – 20 seconds. Place the warm, softened tortillas onto inverted bowls on a baking sheet and lay the tortilla over the bowl. You may need to press the warm tortilla onto the bowl to help form them to the shape of the bowl.
Bake at 375° for about 11 – 12 minutes or until crisp and slightly golden on the edges. Allow to cool. They can then be stacked up and set aside until serving time.
Fill with beans, or some chili, rice, shredded meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, salsa, etc. Whatever you like! My taco salad recipe can be found HERE!
