This delicious Taco Salad is made with a homemade BAKED tortilla shell. They are so easy, and make the taco salad something special! The taco bowl is crispy, as if it has been fried, but it is baked (so it’s healthier for you!)
Taco salad is a quick & easy dinner. You can make chili in the crock pot – or you can use your favorite canned chili con carne with beans. But my favorite thing to put in my taco salad is a delicious Crock Pot Shredded Beef for Tacos. Click HERE for my recipe. (Oh boy, is it good!)
I like to make the tortilla shells ahead of time, pop the ingredients for the Shredded Beef or the Chili into the crock pot before I leave for the day, and when we come home, we have a tasty meal that looks and tastes like I was working in the kitchen all day.
A Taco Bar is also a great theme for a party. Everything is made ahead. The chili, the tortilla bowls and the toppings can be ready to put into serving bowls. When it’s party time, you just set out all of the goodies and let everyone make their own. So fun and so tasty!
I serve it in the cripsy baked tortilla bowls with the following:
Romaine lettuce, torn into bite size pieces
grated cheddar cheese
sliced black olives
salsa (or pico de gallo)
wedges of fresh lime
The recipe for the delicious crock pot chili can be found HERE on this website called themamasgirls.com.
