Sweet & Salty are a fun combination for a snack. This is what some would think is an odd combination of tastes. But once you try it, you’ll be hooked! These munchies can also be made for any other holiday using different colors of M&M’s. One summer, I made this for the 4th of July using red & blue M&M’s (most party stores or specialty candy stores sell colored these M&M’s by the pound.) At Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter, you can find the holiday colors already mixed in bags in the seasonal candy aisle.
Here’s what you’ll need:
12 cups popped popcorn
1/2 bag of Fritos, broken (I like to use the lightly salted variety)
1 lb. white candy coating bark or white chocolate chips, melted
8 oz. light and dark green M&M’s
Pop the popcorn and spread onto a large foil covered roasting pan. Toss with the broken Fritos. Melt the white chocolate bark or chips and drizzle about 3/4 of the melted coating over the popcorn/Frito mixture. Toss to coat all pieces. Before it sets, randomly sprinkle the M&M’s over the coated popcorn/Fritos mix and then drizzle with the remaining white chocolate. Allow to cool. Then break into clusters to serve.
