There’s almost nothing better on top of a juicy grilled steak than sauteed mushrooms. And you don’t have to be a gourmet chef to dress up your meat. These sauteed mushrooms are a flavorful complement to any kind of meat.
I buy the 8oz. package of pre-sliced white button mushrooms. Melt a tablespoon or so of olive oil and a pat of butter over medium-low heat. (Real butter. Not margarine.)
When melted and bubbly, add the sliced mushrooms and saute for 3-4 minutes or until the mushrooms are starting to turn a caramel color and starting to soften. Add 2 teaspoons of dry onion soup mix.
Turn the heat to low and continue cooking until the mushrooms are soft and delicious. Try to resist eating them right out of the pan!
Spoon them over your perfectly grilled steak!
