Onion & Cheese Drop Biscuits


How many of you have used ever French’s French Fried Onions (the kind that come a can) for anything other than the topping on green bean casserole on Thanksgiving? That’s what I like about these Onion & Cheese Drop Biscuits. They are full of flavor because they have those crunchy little onion bits in them. And because they are a drop biscuit rather than a rolled out biscuit, they are so quick to make. And, they use Bisquick! They are so fast to stir together, the only thing you will have to wait for is for your oven to preheat!

Here’s my recipe:

Preheat the oven to 425°. Prepare a baking sheet by spraying with a non-stick cooking spray or lining with parchment.

3 cups Bisquick (I use the reduced fat kind)

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg, beaten

1 cup milk

3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese

1 – 2.8 oz. can French’s French Fried Onions

2 tablespoons butter, melted

In a large bowl, stir together the Bisquick and salt. Gently stir in the beaten egg and milk. (Do not over stir.) Fold in the grated cheese and fried onions.

Using 2 large spoons, drop the dough in small mounds onto the prepared or parchment lined baking. sheet. Bake @ 425° for 8 – 10 minutes or until golden.

onion cheese biscuits-

Right when they come out of the oven, brush the tops with melted butter. Serve the biscuits hot.
