Layered Caramel Banana Pudding

Layered Caramel Banana Pudding

If you like Banana Cream Pie, you’ll love this Layered Pudding Dessert. This one is made using Cook ‘n Serve Vanilla Pudding mix so it’s easy, but if you want to go all out, you can make Vanilla Pudding from scratch, Click HERE for my Microwave Vanilla Pudding recipe!

Around our house, we usually do birthday desserts rather than traditional birthday cakes. Our daughter recently requested this for her birthday instead of cake. Yes, it’s that good!

I serve this in my Footed Trifle Bowl from Amazon.com. It makes a spectacular presentation!

Here’s what you will need to make this beautiful layered dessert:

2 packages Cook ‘n Serve Vanilla Pudding mix

5 cups 2% or whole milk

20 graham crackers

1/2 cup sugar

2/3 cup melted butter

1 pint whipping cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 t. vanilla

1/2 jar (give or take) ready made caramel ice cream topping

6 ripe bananas

Step 1 – Prepare both boxes of pudding mix according to directions, but use only 5 cups of milk instead of 6. Allow to cool, then refrigerate until ready to assemble.

Step 2 – Crush the graham crackers into coarse crumbs and stir in the sugar. Drizzle in the melted butter and stir to combine. Press into a 13 x 9″ baking pan and bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes. Remove and allow to cool. Break apart using a fork. This will be crunchy and crumbly! Set aside until ready to assemble.

Step 3 – Just before assembling, whip the cream, add the vanilla and slowly sprinkle in the powdered sugar. Whip on high speed until fluffy and the whipped cream forms soft peaks.

Assemble the dessert in the trifle bowl in this order:

1/3 of the graham cracker crumbs

1/2 of the pudding

2 – 3 ripe bananas, sliced

1/2 of the whipped cream

1/3 of the graham cracker crumbs

Drizzle with some caramel topping

1/2 of the pudding

2 – 3 ripe bananas, sliced

1/2 of the whipped cream

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. Just before serving, sprinkle on the remaining graham cracker crumbs, more banana slices and drizzle the top with more caramel topping!

I noticed you said add the vanilla to the whipping cream, but you forgot to say how much. It did not show it in the ingredients.

    Thank You

It is the cook and serve type pudding mix (as opposed to the instant pudding mix.) I think it has a creamier texture than the instant.
