Baked Beans are perfect for a summer picnic or BBQ, but when it’s hot outside, who wants to heat up the house by turning on the oven? These baked beans are so good and all you have to do is pop the ingredients into the crock pot, stir and they “bake” without heating up the kitchen!
Here’s what goes into the crock pot:
4 ribs celery, diced
½ yellow onion, diced
½ green pepper, diced
5 – 6 slices bacon (uncooked, diced into large pieces)
¾ c. ketchup
1 T. prepared yellow mustard
½ c. brown sugar, packed
2 cans dark red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can great northern white beans (drained and rinsed)
2 cans pork ‘n beans (do not drain)
Place all of these ingredients in a crock pot and stir well. Cook on low setting for 8 hours or on high setting for 4 hours.
