I love chips and salsa. But fried tortilla chips are high in fat. I decided to make my own crispy, oven-baked tortilla chips. They are much healthier and taste just as good as the fried ones, if not better! They just take a few minutes in the oven and are definitely worth it! They come out of the oven hot and crispy. I like to eat them with salsa while they are still warm!
Here’s all you need to make 2 servings:
4 corn tortillas cut into triangles
Cooking spray (butter flavor spray is good!)
Pre-heat the oven to 350°.
Stack up the tortillas and cut them into triangles using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter. Lay them out in a single layer onto a parchment lined baking sheet and lightly spray with the cooking spray. Turn them over and lightly spray the other side. Sprinkle with sea salt. Make sure there is at least 1/4″ of space between the chips.
Put in the pre-heated oven and bake for 6 – 7 minutes. (You will see that the edges have started to curl up) Using tongs, turn them over and bake an additional 7 – 8 minutes or until they just start to turn golden on the edges.
Remove from baking sheet onto a paper towel to cool slightly before serving.
