This is the time of year to have delicious, fresh apple slices. They are crisp and juicy and are made even better when served with this delicious, creamy caramel dip!
I’m not saying it’s low calorie, so if you’re looking for a sugar-free, low-fat dip, this probably isn’t the one! In fact, this might even fit into the dessert category! (It is so good it brings tears to my son-in-law’s eyes!)
1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
1 7 oz. jar marshmallow creme
1/2 jar caramel ice cream topping
1/2 small package of chopped pecans
10 – 12 medium apples, sliced*
Start by mixing the cream cheese with an electric mixer until it’s smooth. Then, fold in the marshmallow creme until it’s well incorporated. Spread into a serving dish and pour the caramel sauce over the top. Then sprinkle the chopped pecans on top of the caramel layer.
Keep chilled until ready to serve.
*To keep your apple slices from turning brown, soak the slices in Ginger Ale for 5 – 10 minutes, then pat dry with a paper towel before arranging on your serving platter.
If you line your platter with some fresh green, ruffle leaf lettuce, it makes a pretty presentation!
